Today we celebrate our Homecoming, and we are thrilled that you have joined us! We always hope that Homecoming will be like a big family reunion with loved ones whom we no longer see frequently. One difficulty is the shortness of time we have to catch up with each other. So, we want to give you a little update on the work here at Mountain Creek.
We have multiplied our benevolence programs. Every week, more than 100 students at Red Bank Elementary, Middle, and High schools receive a grocery bag of nutritious food that students can prepare for themselves at home. The teachers tell us that before this program, these children came to school so hungry that teaching and learning was almost impossible. Recently, we have added a program where we provide over a thousand pounds of fresh produce free of charge to the needy once every month here at our building.
We are also making a concentrated evangelism effort to reach out to the apartments and residents that live in the Mountain Creek Road area. We are sending newsletters, post cards, and invitations to thousands of homes to invite them to connect with the Church. We are also hosting outreach events aimed at children to attract families to our facilities in order to create opportunities for Bible studies. Additionally, we are in the planning stages of an area-wide evangelism campaign that will hopefully bring the gospel to thousands of people.
Thank you again for coming today and helping us celebrate the wonderful blessings God has given us all. Please pray that God will use us to bear fruit in His Kingdom!
