Following Jesus. Teaching the Gospel.

What To Expect

At Mountain Creek Church of Christ, we are a group of caring people who are passionate about following Jesus Christ and being the disciples that he calls us to be. To do this, we believe in devoting ourselves to understanding his inspired word and allowing it to transform us into people who enjoy an abundant life.

We welcome all people who are seeking to do the will of the Father. No matter your background or mistakes, Jesus offers salvation from your sins, eternal life with God in heaven, and a life filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

In addition to believing in the inerrancy of the Bible, we believe that the Bible can be understood and the divergence in teachings of religious groups are not necessary on most issues because of the clear teachings of the Bible. In that vein, we stand firmly on the truths that are clearly taught in the Bible. Specifically, we believe in the following:

Plan of Salvation: The Bible is clear on how a person enters into a saved relationship with God, through his son Jesus Christ. First, a person must hear the gospel (Romans 10:14). Second, a person must place their faith in Jesus as the Son of God and Savior of sinners (Romans 10:14, Hebrews 11:6). Third, a person must confess their faith in Jesus as the Son of God (Matthew 10:32, Romans 10:9-10). Fourth, a person must repent of their sin and submit to the will of God (Acts 2:38, Acts 17:30). Fifth, a person must be immersed in water for the forgiveness of sins (John 3:3-5, Acts 2:38, Romans 6:3-6, 1 Peter 3:21).

Worship Assemblies: We believe that the Bible contains all the information and instruction necessary for the Church to worship God in spirit and truth as Jesus instructed. As seen in the Bible, we meet every first day of the week to memorialize and proclaim the Lord’s death in the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 11:20-34). Additionally, in accordance with the examples and instructions in the New Testament, we sing songs of praise (Ephesians 5:19, Hebrews 13:15), offer up prayers and petitions (Ephesians 6:18), and read scripture publicly (1 Timothy 4:13), and proclaim the truth of the gospel in our worship assemblies (1 Timothy 4:13). All of our gatherings feature a capella singing; that is, without the accompaniment of mechanical instruments.

Organization of the Church: Our congregation is an autonomous group of Christians who answers to no outside human authority. We are overseen by a group of elders (1 Timothy 3:1-7) who will give an account of all of us to the Lord himself on the last day (Hebrews 13:17). Additionally, we have deacons with responsibilities that focus on different areas of service (1 Timothy 3:8-10). We also have evangelists and teachers with special charges to assist others in understanding the Word of God (Ephesians 4:11, 1 Corinthians 1:21-23).

You are always welcome at our gatherings and to ask questions or study with us on the teachings of the Bible.  We are dedicated to understanding and following the truth of scripture and passionate about helping others do the same.  If we can assist you in drawing closer to God, we look forward to the opportunity.
